Jim Thorpe Stroke Conference speakerMargaret Porembski, M.D. specializes in orthopedic hand surgery and works with patients to provide the best, most appropriate care for their hand problems. Jim Thorpe Stroke Conference speakerCharles Steger, PT, DPT, COMT is a 2008 graduate of the Rockhurst University physical therapy program in Kansas City, Missouri. Upon graduation he worked in a private practice orthopedic clinic in Norman, Oklahoma while attending post-graduate training at the Oklahoma Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Charles then pursued educational training and study from Michael Moore and Tim McGonigle of Folsom Physical Therapy and the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine before opening a private practice in Norman, Oklahoma. Charles joined the Jim Thorpe team in 2015 was hired in 2017 as the orthopedic clinical specialist for INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe. He earned COMT certification for the lower quarter through the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine in 2019.

Jim Thorpe Stroke Conference speakerTara Turvey, OTR/L, CHT, CLT graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center’s Occupational Therapy program in 2000. She obtained lymphedema therapy certification in December 2004. Tara achieved hand therapy certification in November, 2009. She has over 20 years of experience in treatment of patients with complex upper extremity diagnoses, cancer-related dysfunction, and lymphedema. In her role as the Clinical Specialist for Hand Therapy at Integris Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation, she has presented multiple courses on topics including hand therapy, orthotic fabrication, kinesiotaping for edema management, and breast cancer related lymphedema rehabilitation. Tara has a particular interest in developing therapists’ skills and confidence in the field of hand therapy through mentorship and training.  She is a current member of the American Society of Hand Therapists and NBCOT.

Danny OConnorDaniel O’Connor, PT, DPT, CSCS is a 2016 graduate of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center physical therapy program. After graduating, he worked for a private outpatient clinic in the northeast Tulsa area primarily seeing orthopedic patients. He started with INTEGRIS Health in 2018. Daniel is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. While in the Tulsa area, he worked with high school athletes as a strength and conditioning coach.

Darshit PatelDarshit Patel, PT, DPT graduated with a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology in 2018 and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2021 from the University of Oklahoma. Following graduation, Darshit has primarily been working in the outpatient physical therapy setting. Darshit joined the Integris Jim Thorpe rehabilitation team in March of 2022 and has been the physical therapist at the Earlywine Park YMCA location. Currently, Darshit is pursuing further education to become certified in spinal manipulative therapy.

Erin NelsonErin Nelson, PT, DPT, OCS graduated from the University of Oklahoma with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011. After graduating, she worked in both outpatient and acute care in Tulsa before moving to Oklahoma City and joining INTEGRIS in 2015. She achieved her Orthopedic Specialist Certification in 2017 through the American Physical Therapy Association.  Erin currently works in the INTEGRIS Float Pool where she enjoys treating in a variety of settings, which has both allowed her to work with patients throughout the continuum of care as well as glean knowledge from her multiple colleagues.

Health GibsonHeath Gibson PT, DPT, MHA, CBIS graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2007 with a BS in Nutritional Sciences.  He then attended and graduated from Langston University in 2011 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree.  Heath has worked for Integris Health since June of 2011 and has spent time working in inpatient rehab, the float pool, was director/manager for Jim Thorpe in Enid. Kirsten WallaceKirsten Wallace, PT graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1989 with a BS in Psychology. She then graduated from Rockhurst College in 1992 with a degree in Physical Therapy. She initially practiced in acute care for 1 year at   Baptist Medical Center, then was instrumental in the opening of the outpatient clinic on Independence (now known at Outpatient North) in the fall of 1993. Kirsten practiced as on outpatient orthopedic therapist for 20 years at Integris Jim Thorpe Outpatient North, including being Therapy Lead/Supervisor from 2005-2013. Kirsten became the Therapy Manager of Outpatient North and Integris Health Edmond clinics in 2013, then transitioned to Integris Health Edmond, ICI and Hefner Pointe in July of 2020.
