Toby Broussard, M.D.

Toby Broussard, M.D., FACS, was born in Morgan City, Louisiana.

He attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. He then entered medical school at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport and earned his M.D.

Dr. Broussard’s surgical training began in Birmingham, Alabama, at Carraway Methodist Medical Center. After completing his surgical residency, he moved back to Louisiana and began a well-rounded private practice he managed for 13 years.

During Dr. Broussard’s residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center, he was exposed to bariatric surgery and continued to develop a strong interest in it while operating his private practice. Eventually, Dr. Broussard decided to devote most of his time to bariatric surgery. He enjoys helping patients transform their lives medically and socially.

Dr. Broussard is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery. His professional memberships include the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, Caraway Surgical Society, Southeastern Surgical Congress, Oklahoma Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, and Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).
