Restless Leg Syndrome

Do you experience itching, tingling or cramping legs at night?

Restless Leg Syndrome, or RLS, is a sleep disorder in which a person has an uncontrollable urge to move their legs, often accompanied by unpleasant sensations in the legs that are described as creeping, crawling, tingling or pulling. It typically happens in the evenings or nights while you're sitting or lying down, and moving eases the unpleasant feeling temporarily.

Restless Leg Syndrome can begin at any age and generally worsens as you age. Sleep problems are common with RLS because of the difficulty it causes in getting to sleep and the disruption of sleep throughout the night, leading to severe daytime fatigue. Find out more about the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of RLS below. To learn more, call 405-636-7700.
