The Heart of a Healthier Oklahoma

Heart Services and Procedures

Diagnostic and Imaging

Patients with suspected cardiac disease or vascular disorders may receive many types of diagnostic cardiac exams at INTEGRIS Heart Hospital including an EKG or ECG, a Holter monitor, a stress test or other forms of testing to examine your heart.

Electrophysiology

Cardiac electrophysiology is the study of the heart’s electrical system, which directs how quickly or slowly your heart beats and determines how it beats. When the heart’s electrical system experiences a problem, it can result in an abnormal heart rhythm – called arrhythmia. While medication can help control arrhythmia, other treatments such as a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator  may be required.

Congestive Heart Failure

Heart failure, also called congestive heart failure, is a condition in which the heart cannot pump enough oxygenated blood to meet the needs of the body's other organs. The heart keeps pumping, but not as efficiently as a healthy heart.

Interventional Care

An interventional procedure opens narrowed coronary arteries to improve blood flow to the heart. An interventional procedure may include cardiac catheterization, balloon angioplasty, a stent or a combination of these procedures.

Heart Surgery

Our INTEGRIS Heart Hospital surgeons perform three types of heart surgery: coronary artery bypass, heart transplant and artificial assist device placement.

Heart Valve Repair and Replacement

Your heart contains four major valves. Damage to one or more these valves may cause it to leak, leading to blood flowing in the wrong direction, or to become very narrow, making it difficult for blood to flow through the valve. In some cases, the valve may be repaired. In other cases, it must be replaced with a valve made of animal material or metal.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

A a supervised cardiac rehabilitation program includes exercise, lifestyle changes, education and emotional support for people who have had a heart attack, bypass surgery or have other heart problems. Programs are medically supervised and individually designed to enhance your quality of life to help you return to and maintain your best possible physical and emotional condition.

Heart Disease Management

The goal of the INTEGRIS Anticoagulation Clinics is to optimize anticoagulation effectiveness while minimizing patient risks. We provide management and monitoring of anticoagulation therapy with a primary focus on warfarin (Coumadin®) therapy.

Stroke

A stroke, which in the past was called a cerebrovascular accident, is a rapid decline of brain function due to disturbance in the blood supply to the brain, caused by a blocked or burst blood vessel. This results in a disturbance of glucose and oxygen caused by the thrombosis or embolism, or due to a hemorrhage. A transient ischemic attack is a brief episode of stroke-like symptoms that results from a temporary blood vessel blockage.

TransCarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR)

INTEGRIS Heart Hospital is pioneering the use of a breakthrough technology called TransCarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) to treat patients with carotid artery disease who are at risk for open surgery. While any repair of the carotid artery carries some risk of causing a stroke because of the repair itself, TCAR was designed to help minimize that risk by keeping potential stroke causing fragments away from the brain.
