Our goal is to facilitate the admission of patients into inpatient rehabilitation in a timely manner. Frequent correspondence with the referral source is provided regarding the status of the admission.

Prior to admission, the Inpatient Rehab Admission Liaison meets with each patient and family and provides education to them regarding the rehabilitation process at Jim Thorpe Inpatient Rehabilitation and what to expect during the stay.

A brochure is provided which gives an overview of Jim Thorpe Inpatient Rehabilitation and a copy of the patient information panel card. Tours of our facilities are available and often recommended prior to admission.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has criteria for classifying inpatient rehabilitation facilities. The criterion focuses on medical necessity and functional capabilities. Please keep in mind that all potential admissions to INTEGRIS Health Jim Thorpe Inpatient Rehabilitation must be clinically stable and able to tolerate at least three hours of rehabilitative therapy at least five days per week. Under this ruling, some patients may no longer qualify for inpatient rehabilitation but instead may have a course of intensive outpatient rehabilitation therapy, home care, or may be sent to a skilled nursing facility.
