INTEGRIS Paul Silverstein Burn Center

Visitor Guide

To assist us in providing burn patients with the best possible care, special guidelines have been established. Please ask the staff to help you with any problems or questions that may arise. We also ask that all visitors wash their hands prior to visiting patients.

Visiting ICU (Rooms 301– 304)

ICU patients may have two visitors at a time. Other arrangements can be made with the nursing staff except during shift report, dressing changes or during procedures. Overnight visitors are not permitted in the ICU. Please check in at the front desk before going to ICU. Children younger than age 12 will not be permitted in the ICU area. For special circumstances discuss with your nurse.

Visiting Acute Care (Rooms 306 – 320)

Family of acute care patients may visit at any time except during dressing changes or during procedures. If the patient’s condition warrants restrictions, the visiting hours will be determined at the discretion of the physician or nurse. Only one adult overnight visitor is permitted. We ask that all other visitors leave at 10 p.m. so the patient can get plenty of rest. We cannot allow visitors to sleep in our patient lounges. For your comfort, a recliner chair is provided in each room, or for a small fee a cot may be ordered for nighttime use. Please check with the nursing staff before bringing children younger than age 2 into patient rooms.

INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center is committed to a smoke-free environment for its patients, employees and visitors.

Telephone Calls

Friends and family members who want to call can dial “945-5” plus the patient’s three-digit room number. Personal patient telephones are not available in the intensive care area. Calls can be placed from the patient rooms by dialing “8,” listening for the dial tone, and then dialing the local number. To place a long distance call, dial “8” – “0” for operator assistance.

Mail and Flowers

Hospital volunteers deliver mail to patients daily Monday through Saturday. Parcels and special delivery items are delivered as they arrive. Plants and flowers are permitted except in the intensive care area. All areas can receive artificial arrangements and balloons. We ask family members to take home flowers and plants that accumulate in abundance.

The cafeteria is located on the concourse (basement) level of INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center. It offers a variety of hot entrees, sandwiches and salads. Additionally, a condensed selection of food is available after hours.
