Her love for cooking and knowing how food impacts the body inspired her to become a registered dietitian around high school age. She completed her dietitian coursework at the University of Nebraska while competing on the track & field and cross-country teams as a middle distance/distance runner. The connection between proper fueling and athletic performance further intensified her love for nutrition science, along with the coursework focusing on nutrition therapy for various disease states. Her first job as a registered dietitian was at a bariatric clinic and she has been working with bariatric surgery patients for the entirety of her career. She feels that working in this field is so rewarding because she can be a part of life-changing transformations and have a long-term relationship with her patients.
