The INTEGRIS Health Pediatric Orthopedics Team

At INTEGRIS Health we offer a team approach to orthopedic treatment, drawing on the expertise of a wide variety of disciplines. Your child’s pediatric orthopedics team may include:

  • Pediatricians or Primary Care Physicians initial diagnosis and referrals to specialist.
  • Orthopedic Surgeons bring a detailed understanding of the workings of the musculoskeletal system including diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Orthopedists may specialize in certain areas of orthopedic care.
  • Physical Therapists work to improve movement, decrease pain and help children transition back to their daily activities. Physicians may recommend physical therapy for children who have been injured or who have movement problems as a result of an illness, disease or disability.
  • Occupational Therapists are trained to improve the quality of a child’s involvement in their daily functional tasks and may include hand writing, dressing, feeding and grooming themselves along with playing age-appropriate games.
  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), or Physiatrist: The discipline of restoring lost abilities to a person by considering their physical, psychological, medical, vocational and social needs.
  • Other specialists as required.
