Amina Jawaid was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, where she received her early education and later went to Karachi University. She moved to the United States in 1996 when she got married. After having kids, Amina continued with higher education and became a registered nurse. Amina gained experience as an RN in the Neuro-critical, and Medical-Surgical ICUs at INTEGRIS Hospitals by caring for multiple complex patients.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she returned to school to become an acute care nurse practitioner. Amina works with the Nazih Zuhdi Liver Transplant team as a hepatology nurse practitioner.
"My passion is to save as many lives as possible by offering optimal care to acute and chronically ill patients. I am dedicated to providing patient-centered care and thorough, evidence-based treatment plans. As a Hepatology Nurse Practitioner, my goal is to not only empower my patients to sustain their health but also to prevent the progression of their chronic liver disease. It's an absolute honor for me to be a part of a very passionate and caring Liver team at Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute."
