Brent Beson, M.D.

Brent Beson, M.D., specializes in neurology and is the Medical Director of the INTEGRIS Health MDA Neuromuscular Center. Dr. Beson has a long history with Southwest Medical Center where he first worked as a cafeteria grill cook and then radiology transporter from 1991 – 1995. His humble beginning of transporting patients has evolved into providing acute and outpatient medical management for individuals with neuromuscular disease.

Dr. Beson has helped build the foundation from which the INTEGRIS Southwest Neuroscience Institute continues to thrive. He remains a vital leader within the state of Oklahoma as one of ONLY A FEW neurologists to have received board certification in Neuromuscular Medicine.

He graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, College of Medicine in 1999. His medical adult neurology residency was completed at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he was elected by his peers to serve as Chief Neurology Resident from 2002 – 2003. He then completed a Fellowship in Neuromuscular Disease and Clinical Neurophysiology at Washington University, St. Louis. Dr. Beson has had multiple honors and distinctions throughout his career.

He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology AND American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine and has been an active volunteer since 1991 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
