Bret Haines, D.O., was born in Tulsa but spent most of his childhood growing up in Stillwater, Okla.
He graduated from Stillwater High School and completed his undergraduate career at Oklahoma State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. While at OSU he walked onto the football team as a place kicker. He also met his wife, Jessica, there. Together they share four children.
Dr. Haines first became interested in medicine as a young boy. His father is a family medicine physician, and Bret grew up observing the positive impact a career in medicine has on patients and the community. After completing his undergraduate degree at OSU, he received a certificate in public health from the University of Oklahoma. He then attended medical school at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa. During his exposure to general surgery, he immediately felt called to it because surgery provides the unique opportunity to combine both clinical knowledge and technical skills.
