He then completed his internship at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, his residency at CaseWestern Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the internationally renowned Sinskey Eye Institute in Santa Monica, California. Upon completion of his fellowship, he served as the Assistant Director of the Cataract and Refractive Surgery Department at the Sinskey Eye Institute .
