David DeLoera, APRN, is a board-certified palliative care specialist at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center.

DeLoera grew up in Warr Acres/Behtany. He went to Putnam City High School and always enjoyed math and sciences. He was also part of PCO’s health careers program. He pursued nursing during undergrad at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and started working with INTEGRIS Health until following a more specialized pathway of learning in nephrology for 10+ years. DeLoria is thankful for everything learned with physicians, staff, nurses and patients during that time.

He was able to pursue growing my career as a clinical nurse specialist and advanced practice registered nurse, continuing to work with nephrology patients, more specifically, the end-stage renal disease population. After that, during his four years as an advanced practice provider, he wanted to expand his expertise in providing the best nephrology care for the end-stage disease population and ensuring they have the best quality of life possible. This is why David transitioned into the newer role of palliative care to continue providing the best care to any patient facing a severe illness.

Working collaboratively with patients and their treatment team to help patients achieve the best outcomes pertaining to their goals of care that improve quality of life. Facing a serious illness is hard, but palliative support should always be offered to help ease the daily struggles.
