Yvonne grew up in Sherman, Texas, and has lived in Dallas, TX, Columbus, IN, Amarillo, TX, and now Oklahoma City, OK. She cherishes her place in a large family with four siblings and has four adult children of her own. She values the dynamics of navigating various perspectives, values, and desires among family members and siblings. Over the years, she has come to understand that trials cultivate endurance, perseverance, and personal growth.
Yvonne considers it a gift to mature and refine her professional and personal skills during challenging seasons. Her nursing career began in the ICU and evolved into hospice care. After obtaining her APRN, she gained experience in long-term care/rehab, pediatrics, and urgent care. Now, at the age of 55, she has discovered her most fulfilling nursing role as a Palliative Care APRN. She aspires to listen more than speak and to utilize her life experiences to support families here at INTEGRIS.
“I grew up with a love for camping and hiking, and I apply the principles of trail etiquette to each day at work. I was taught to value ‘leave no trace’ camping. In palliative care, I aspire to leave my interactions with patients and families better than I found them. I aim for patients to feel acknowledged and heard, and I strive to instill confidence in families as they honor their loved ones.”
