Timothy Vavricka, M.D., graduated from Ada High School in 1997 and went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma in 2001.
Upon his acceptance to medical school Dr. Vavricka was also commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy. He was subsequently awarded an M.D. in 2005 and started his residency in General Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. After completing his residency in 2010 he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and sent to the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) to serve as Ship's Surgeon. He completed two combat deployments to the Middle East aboard the Big E prior to her decommissioning in 2012. He was then sent to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth to serve as a Staff Surgeon at the busiest medical center in the Navy.
Vavricka also served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the General Surgery residency program there teaching future Navy Surgeons. On completion of his service he moved back to Oklahoma to establish his practice with Southwest General Surgery.
