The Department of Surgical Services at INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Hospital is actually five departments under one roof:
The five-suite surgical services unit is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and scopes for general surgical and orthopedic surgical procedures. Three operating suites and one dedicated C-section suite are spacious, and designed with efficiency and safety in mind.
The hospital utilizes the newest high-tech equipment and expanded services including the following:
Individualized care for each surgical patient is provided by a team of experienced professionals, which includes the surgeon, anesthesiologist, registered nurse, and surgical technologist. The intraoperative team celebrates more than 110 combined years of experience.
The 15-bed outpatient day surgery unit covers a wide variety of procedures. Patients begin their surgical experience in this area. Outpatient surgical patients are able to leave within a few hours after the procedure, so that they are able to rest in their own homes the same day. Diagnostic endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and esophagogastroduodenoscopies are performed in our endoscopic suite. Patients may also come to the outpatient department for blood transfusions and pre-operative testing.
Patient documentation by nursing staff and physicians is done through intra-operative measures, which means a totally paperless environment for the unit.
Great pride is taken in serving patients not only from Yukon and Mustang, but also from the surrouning areas:
Patients and their families come to INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Hospital for their surgical needs not only because of the facility, equipment, and the convenient parking, but the personal care proudly provided by the staff.
