The
INTEGRIS Cancer Institute is beginning a major renovation and expansion of the infusion therapy and medical oncology areas at
INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center.
Phase I of the project began earlier this month. Phase II will start in October. The expansion will include adding eight treatment bays and three exam rooms. Access to all oncology services will remain available throughout the renovation. The temporary infusion space will be located inside the Cancer Center Conference rooms, east and west.
The INTEGRIS Cancer Institute is excited to create a beautiful, cohesive space that will flow nicely with the upgrades in our radiation therapy department that took place last fall, which included a refresh of the patient waiting areas and the installation of the latest technology in radiation care; the Varian TrueBeam. This is an investment in our community’s access to local, quality, expert cancer care. With completion of the renovation and expansion we’ll have the capacity for another physician as well as the ability to accommodate our patients more efficiently and in a healing environment.
"It will be an expansion enhancement of our services and will improve the patient and family experience. This renovation will also provide a refresh to our finishes and improved efficiencies for our caregivers, all to better serve our patients and visitors and to optimize the safety of our environment," says Phil Lance, director of Cancer Treatment with the INTEGRIS Cancer Institute.
The expansion is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2022.
