Trick or Treat Train at INTEGRIS Health Children's

Trick or Treat Train at INTEGRIS Health Children'sThe halls of INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center were full of ghosts and goblins today, as patients and staff celebrated Halloween.

Pediatric patients could wear their own costumes or they could choose one provided by the hospital. Once in character, the kids got to go “trick-or-treating”.

All pediatric patients were able to participate in the event in some way. Those who felt comfortable and were able to leave their room got to trick-or-treat in specific areas throughout the hospital. Patients who were unable to participate due to health issues were given a bag of goodies that was collected for them. That way no one missed out on the fun today!

“Being sick or injured during the holidays is no fun,” says Ashley Ochs, a child life manager at INTEGRIS Health Children’s. “So since these kids can’t go out and trick-or-treat like they normally would, we wanted to bring Halloween to them!”

Many parents expressed their gratitude to the hospital for making the holiday as fun as possible under the circumstances. Below is a video of the festivities.

Several therapy dogs got in on the action as well, they were in costume and near the trick-or-treat stations so the kids could take pictures with them and get a little extra pet therapy.
