INTEGRIS Health Children’s recently hosted its annual NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) reunion at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center. The special event brought together more than 300 people including 80 families and their medical teams to celebrate the progress and growth of children who began their lives in the NICU.
The reunion offered a unique opportunity for families to reconnect with the doctors, nurses, and staff who provided critical care during their newborns' early days. It also allowed parents to share their stories and support one another while celebrating their children's milestones.
"We were thrilled to welcome back our NICU graduates and their families," said Kourtney Zwierlein, RN, nurse manager for the NICU. "This reunion was a testament to the resilience of these children and the dedication and unwavering commitment of our NICU team. It was a joyous occasion for everyone involved."
The superhero-themed event featured fun activities including games, crafts and therapy dogs. Refreshments were provided for families to enjoy a day of celebration and camaraderie.
