Each year, OBI identifies less than 7% of the hospitals they serve who had significant year over year improvement in hospital blood drive efforts and results. In the past two years, INTEGRIS Health Ponca City Hospital brought in 262 blood units, impacting 786 patient lives.

Jessy Dershem, executive director of Our Blood Institute in Enid shares, “Hospitals are the perfect partner for hosting employee and community blood drives. They see firsthand how blood transfusions affect patient care and are a staple in our community for public health. Right now, our nation is experiencing a critical blood shortage. Over 2,000 donors have missed their blood donation appointments in the past week due to bad weather or sickness. We appreciate hospital’s like INTEGRIS Health Ponca City Hospital who continually step up to host blood drives and relay information to the public on the importance of volunteer blood donations for the best patient care. Because of these efforts, we are so proud to present INTEGRIS Health Ponca City Hospital with a Star Hospital Award.”
