INTEGRIS Health Paul Silverstein Burn Center Patients and Visitors

To assist us in providing burn patients with the best possible care, special guidelines have been established. Here you will find basic information for both patients and visitors to the INTEGRIS Health Paul Silverstein Burn Center.

Referral criteria

The INTEGRIS Health Paul Silverstein Burn Center evaluates the following criteria and conditions to refer patients to the unit:

• Any burn a provider is uncomfortable managing
• Partial thickness burns greater than 10% total body surface area (TBSA)
• Burns that involve the face, hands, feet, genitalia, perineum or major joints
• Third degree burns in any age group
• Electrical burns, including lightning injury
• Chemical burns
• Inhalation injury
• Burn injury in patients with preexisting medical disorders that could complicate management, prolong recovery or affect mortality
• Small burns that have not healed within five days
