Good nutrition is a vital component to staying successful after weight loss surgery. Below are some nutrition tips to help guide you on this new journey.
Meals and snacks should be half protein. Choose lean options such as fish, chicken or lean beef. Avoid meats that are fried or breaded.
Include non-starchy vegetables at meals. Non-starchy vegetables include foods like tomatoes, broccoli, carrots or green beans. Starchy vegetables like potatoes, peas and corn, should be avoided.
Save starches for special occasions such as holidays or birthdays. Starches include bread, rice, tortillas and pasta.
Stay hydrated! Try to reach at least 64 ounces of water daily.
