He earned his medical degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery.
Detweiler has a passion for sports medicine and trained under the famed sports medicine specialist and surgeon, James Andrews, M.D., at the Andrews Institute for Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Detweiler has provided sideline medical coverage for a variety of sports at various levels, including working with teams at Oklahoma State, Auburn, Pensacola State College, the University of West Florida and several high schools. He also has experience in sideline coverage for minor league baseball, hockey and arena football teams, and provides yearly medical coverage for the American Finals Rodeo in Tulsa.
Detweiler provides care for not only athletes but patients both young and old experiencing orthopedic issues. His passion in medicine is returning people to healthy, functional lives with areas of interest including sports medicine, joint replacement and ligament reconstruction.
