Documentation Protecting Yourself in the Legal World
This presentation is to provide education concerning the legal pitfalls of improperly documenting or omitting documentation from a patient’s chart.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Communicate their new knowledge of how to document appropriately
2. Explains how materials and information related to documentation are presented in a court of law
3. Identify best practices for improving documentation to be both accurate and appropriate
Brenda Nowlin, MSN, RN has been in practice since 2012. She has an extensive background in critical care, emergency medicine, and flight medicine. In addition to her role as a nurse educator for INTEGRIS Health she is currently in Law School pursuing a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law. She have been with INTEGRIS since October 2019.
