This course will introduce physical and occupational therapists to the use of whole-body vibration to improve functional patient outcomes through improved circulation, decreased spasticity/tone, improved muscle activation, and improved balance and range of motion. Following the completion of the course, participants will be able to identify which patient populations will most benefit from this therapeutic approach and they will be able to explain contraindications to use to ensure patient safety and results.

Josie Gimple graduated from Southwest Baptist University in 2008 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Josie earned her Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) Certification in 2012. Josie has also received certifications for Lokomat and Ekso Bionics. She has worked for INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation since 2008 where she currently works on the Spinal Cord Injury Floor at INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehab Hospital. Josie assists with the Jim Thorpe Spinal Cord Injury Survivors Group and is the current Marketing Committee Chairman for the Greater Oklahoma Disabled Sports Association (GODSA). Josie also volunteers with the Devon adaptive rowing program and the Oklahoma Diamondback sled hockey. Lastly, Josie has received multiple awards for her work as a physical therapist for INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation.
