INTEGRIS Health Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute (NZTI) consists of hospital-based transplant and advanced therapies clinics at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center. NZTI consists of liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant, as well as advanced liver failure, hepatobiliary surgery, advanced GI and ECMO. NZTI is a longstanding transplant center with kidney transplant celebrating 35 years and liver transplant celebrating 30 years, both in 2022 and our programs continue to grow.
At the Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute, we care for patients 18 years and older. We monitor and provide care throughout the life of the transplant as well as caring for patients with end-organ failure not able to be transplanted. We consider it a unique opportunity to build rapport with patients and their family members. Our patients transition through many life stages while going through pre and post-transplant and advanced care, and it is our privilege to assist them through this.
Nazih Zuhdi provides dedicated organ transplant care with highly-skilled, full-time nurses who are oriented through well-trained preceptors whose purpose is to provide guidance and extended shadowing experience to ensure consistent and exceptional patient care. Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute also offers a unique work environment where a multidisciplinary team collaborates to effectively care for all transplant patients' complex needs. Our nursing staff consists of 2 types of transplant coordinators – pre and post-transplant and clinic RNs. The RN transplant coordinators care for a cohort of patients assigned based alphabetically by the patient's last name. Nurses work typical office hours of Monday-Friday with no holidays or weekends. * The Transplant Coordinators are required to obtain CCTN or CCTC within three years of hire.
