Welcome to Portland ICU (Intensive Care Unit). I am Regina Jarvis RN, BSN Nurse Manager of the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit on the 3rd floor at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Portland Campus.
Portland ICU is an interdisciplinary team-centered unit that works closely with a group of Intensivists that rotate weekly and are the attending physician of every patient in our unit. This intensivist physician model fosters an environment of teamwork that is amplified through multidisciplinary rounding and daily tasks. These teams are also comprised of an APRN, Pharmacist, Respiratory Therapist and Dietician.
We care for a wide range of patients ages 18 and up that are diagnosed with sepsis, acute respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, multiorgan system failure, drug overdose, gastrointestinal bleeds, diabetic ketoacidosis, renal failure, liver failure and a host of other diagnoses.
Portland ICU is an excellent unit for all nurses, no matter where you are in your nursing career. New graduate nurses work their way through a nurse residency program and are assigned an experienced ICU RN preceptor. In contrast, experienced nurses can continue to gain skills and broaden their horizons with a wide range of patient diagnoses. Through working closely with a multidisciplinary team, nurses find themselves in an environment that fosters success and job satisfaction.
